Genetics and Bloodline

Getting born

Two birth codes from two different born players:

/birth <code1> <code2>

You inherit from both. Family name and elemental makeup come from the pairing. It cannot be rerolled.

Founders use /birthog <code> with a staff-issued code. They take a house profile exactly rather than blended, and choose their family's chat colour from a picker shown at birth. That choice is one-time.

/invite generates a code for someone else. The first unlocks shortly after birth; later ones are on a cooldown.

Elements

Six elements arranged in a wheel. Every house is:

  • strongest in its own element
  • moderate in two neighbouring elements
  • weak in two distant ones
  • hard-countered by its opposite

This affects damage dealt and damage taken.

A rare bloodline sits outside the wheel: strong in every element, fragile against all of them, with no counter and no safe matchup. It can appear at any birth and tends to run in families.

Inheritance

There is a range of genetic traits, from slight inconveniences to specific weaknesses. Most genes carried are unexpressed and silent.

A trait expresses at full strength only when the same hidden copy is inherited from both parents. Relatives are the players most likely to carry the same copy, so pairing within a bloodline is what makes hidden traits appear.

What each trait does is not published. That is what makes a pairing a decision.

Marriage

Marriage is a declared social bond. It changes no kinship, is not required to have children, and can end. Spouses need not be co-parents and co-parents need not be married.
