Patience

When people reply to your post, don't just pick whoever can birth you fastest. Elementia is a long-term server, and your family ties can make or break your experience.

If several people offer to birth you, find out the following:

  1. Their elemental affinities. These are the strengths and weaknesses you receive at birth. You can adjust them later using stat points, but your major strength determines your name color in chat. Read the wiki to find the element that best suits your playstyle.
  2. Their genes. Genes are passed down traits that could make life harder in one small way, or at least more interesting. Ask what you would inherit.
  3. What the parents are like. Your parents are the people you'll stay with and learn from the most, so check that you're compatible. Also be careful about incest (if the parents are related), as it gives you debuffs depending on how closely they're related.
  4. The family's resources. Check what they have, such as valuables like diamonds or iron, tools like XP farms, and relationships with other families or teams. This will pay off in the long run.
  5. Whether they'll teach you how Elementia works. The best family is always the one that shows you the ropes and helps you reach your potential. You wouldn't want to miss out on features you might enjoy!
