Both are bought in the shop. ===== Getting married ===== Buy a Marriage Certificate each. Right-click each other while you are both holding one. ===== Names ===== ''/marry name'' lets you take their family name, hyphenate the two, or keep your own. A hyphenated name uses the first part of each. ===== Shared hearts ===== Married players share one heart total, held as the average. * At the wedding you are both set to the average of the two. Marrying someone on low hearts costs you. * After that, anything that moves one of you moves both. * A death costs 3 hearts, so you lose 1.5 each. The same as one person dying alone. * A child together gives you 1.5 hearts each. A child with anyone else gives 0.5 each. * Buying a heart in the shop gives you 0.5 each. The total is the same as if you were not married. Only who holds it changes. ===== The bond ===== Standing within 16 blocks of your spouse gives you both Regeneration. ===== If your spouse is soulless ===== Shared hearts are off. Nothing you do moves them and nothing they do moves you. Your deaths cost the full 3 hearts, because there is nobody to share them with. A soulless player cannot have children. See [[souls|Souls]]. ===== Divorce ===== ==== How it works ==== Both of you buy Divorce Papers. They are a book and quill with the petition printed in. Each of you fills in your own copy and files it with ''/divorce'' while holding it. The marriage ends when both petitions are in and they agree. There is no accept button. Two documents saying the same thing is the agreement. ==== Rules ==== * Both of you must file within a couple of minutes of each other. * Papers are consumed whether the filing is accepted or rejected. * A rejected filing will tell you every line that was wrong. * Both petitions must award the same hearts to the same person, and must agree on line 18 and 19. * Lines 14 and 15 must add up to line 13. * Each of you is the PETITIONER on your own copy. * The date of marriage can be your best guess, within ±7 days. ==== Formatting ==== * Capitals do not matter. * Yes or no: ''yes'', ''y'', ''true'', ''no'', ''n'', ''false''. * Dates must be spelled out, with no year: ''October 6'', ''oct 6th'', ''6 October''. * Lists are separated by commas, in any order. Write ''none'' for an empty one. ==== The form ==== **Page 1** <code> PETITION FOR DISSOLUTION OF MARRIAGE In the matter of the marriage registered to the parties named below. Fill every line.
